WHAT ARE THE COMMON OPERATING SYSTEMS?

 There are a lot operating systems in the IT industry. Now operating systems provide an interface between  user and a hardware. Now every thing is going into an IT system that means people need a lot of operating systems for their choice. There are three major kinds of operating systems. It is very important to tell that innovation is a long process which that still a lot of working is going on in this side They include Standalone, Network, and Embedded Operating Systems. 

According to Brain K. Williams , Stacey C.Sawyer Standalone Operating Systems are also called as desktop operating systems. They are the most common operating systems and people are using them in their homes too. Usually they work for single desktop. However some of their versions work for multiple users in the form of client operating systems through server. The example of it lies in Macintosh and Microsoft windows. One can play different games like Pokémon GO  on these systems. It is very important to tell that Macintosh launched its first GUI. Whereas windows 7 and 8 are the most common operating systems in people. Microsoft releases in new version with the passage of time with new features. Network Operating Systems connect different devices. As network has become an inevitable of computer's world. So it was very important to launch such kind of operating systems which work for networks. The example of it lies in Novell's Open enterprise server which work for connecting microcomputers. Similarly, Windows server connect Pcs in small offices.  One can not ignore Unix in this regard as it is a multitasking operating system which helps to connect all types of computers. Solaris and BSD are the flavors of Unix. Linux is a version of Unix for different purposes. Embedded Operating Systems reside on ROM of the device.  Mostly they work for small devices. The example of it lies in Androids, Windows phones, and Blackberry, and Apple. Different mobiles like Samsung Galaxy use such kind of operating systems in them. It can be seen that mobile phones are present in the market in  very high quantity. Even people re using these phones for their purposes. Some embedded operating systems are also growing in  high speed. As android is an open source system so people are using it for their ease.

In a nutshell, One can not deny the operating systems in the world of Computers. As they provide interface between a user and hardware. The most common one incudes the Standalone operating systems. As IT industry is growing in a very rapid speed so embedded systems are also available in large quantity.
